Colby Kent is a self-taught musician and songwriter. His songs are unhurried, haunting, and human—rooted in the raw, working-class heart of the Upper Midwest. Over the past twenty years, he’s fronted bands that have played everywhere from festivals to dive bars to breweries to staple Minneapolis venues like The Cabooze, 331 Club, Fine Line, and the Turf Club. These days, he performs solo—voice, guitar, harmonica, and banjo—carrying the weight of a full band in a single breath. He continues to write, record, and produce both solo work and new material with his longtime musical partner, Professor Crow, in their hayloft studio as Colby Kent & The Stompin’ Ground.
